It’s summertime and in a field near Enniscorthy, plump strawberries ripen in the sun. Many will end up on the side of the road, the lucky one however will be turned into gin. What a way to go!
Blackwater Distillery add crate-loads of these strawberries to 12 hand-picked botanicals. But what they don’t use is just as important: there’s no added sweetener or artificial flavouring.
It’s the fruit, the whole fruit and nothing but the fruit that gives your Wexford Strawberry Gin its delicate taste.
Top tip: lots of ice, tonic water, crushed strawberry, torn basil and a crack of black pepper.
